Have you ever wondered what goes into a heating or air conditioning system for a large office building or another large building like a mall or a school? My name is Evelyn, and I am an HVAC architect. I design heating and air conditioning systems for large, corporate buildings. Making sure that a large building with many rooms or offices is efficiently heated and cooled is a very large job and is much more complicated than simply heating or cooling a home. Without adequate refrigerant in your air conditioner, your AC wouldn't be able to cool your home. The refrigerant circulates from the condenser outside to the evaporator coils in the indoor air handler as the unit runs. The refrigerant changes from a liquid to a gas and back again as it flows in a continuous circle between the two parts of your AC. When a refrigerant line gets a leak, the air your AC puts out gets warmer gradually until your AC can't make cool air any longer.

Next year, HVAC technicians will have a harder time getting their hands on Freon, a refrigerant that numerous heat pump systems rely on. The upcoming phaseout of brand-new production will see Freon supplies dwindle as the HVAC industry transitions to other, more ozone layer-friendly refrigerants. The upcoming phaseout, scheduled for January 1, 2020, is part of an EPA-led effort to remove ozone-depleting refrigerants from circulation. Today's heat pumps already use alternatives like R-410a, also known as Puron, but plenty of Freon-using heat pumps still exist out in the wild.

Most restaurants have at least one deep fryer in the kitchen. Generally, as long as you clean the oil and wipe down the entire unit daily, the fryer will continue to work. However, there are some problems that may cause trouble for you if you do not handle them quickly. You will know there is a problem when the food is not cooking properly or is coming out soggy instead of crisp.

The air conditioner drip pan catches moisture that is created through condensation. The AC comes with both a main drip pan and an auxiliary drip pan. Because the main drip pan is difficult to access, you'll need to replace the much more accessible auxiliary pan when there is a hole in it. 1. Turn the AC Off First Always shut your AC unit off first before you replace the drip pan.
